The pendant is 29mm high and 67mm wide. It is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Rimu Area just South of Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand.
This Breastplate has a hand platted, round, 4-plait cord which is extremely strong and made to be worn all the time - even in any kind of water. It is adjustable by pinching the knots on the cord and pulling.
It also has the traditional ridge-knot bindings along the top. This was one of the bindings used by the Maori to attach the pounamu to wooden and bone handles to use as tools and weapons.
Pendant Meaning: The Breastplate gives the wearer strength and protects them on their journey through life.
