The pendant is 31mm high and 86mm wide.  It is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Rimu Area just South of Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand.

This Breastplate has a hand platted, round, 4-plait cord which is extremely strong and made to be worn all the time - even in any kind of water.  It is adjustable by pinching the knots on the cord and pulling.

Pendant  Meaning:  The Breastplate gives the wearer strength and protects them on their journey through life.

The notches along the bottom of the breastplate can represent important people, place, times, events or accomplishments in the wearers life.  There is 7 of them that can also represent the 7 Maori warriors, Matariki and the 7 stars, the seven sisters in the sky from greek mythology.
