This Manaia is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Martyr River in the Haast area of South Westland on the West Coast of the South Island, in New Zealand.
The Manaia has a waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time. It is a hand platted, 4-plait, round cord which is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.
The Manaia is shaped at the back so that it is comforting to rub when being worn.
The pendant is 69mm in length and 45mm at its widest.
