This Mere is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Marsden Valley in the Paroa area just outside of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island.
The Mere is 108mm in length and 40mm at its widest.
The Mere has a waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time. It is extremely strong and is made to be worn all the time - even in any kind of water. The cord is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.
Pendant Meaning: The Mere is the war club that gives the wearer strength and courage to face, get through, do and achieve anything in their life.
It also symbolises authority as it was given as a person progressed up the ranks and achieved respect of people and became leaders.
