The Hei Tiki is 89mm in length and 52mm at its widest.

This Tiki is carved from pounamu we have collected from Anita Bay, on the outskirts of Milford Sound in Fiordland, West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand.

This Hei Tiki can be hung horizontally from the arm or vertically by a hidden hole in the back of the head.  It is shaped on the back so that it is comforting to rub when being worn.

The Hei Tiki has an extremely strong, waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time.   It is a hand platted, round, 4-plait cord.  The cord is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.

Pendant Meaning:   The Hei Tiki is an ancestral piece worn in remembrance of past ancestors and Whanau/family members.  It is thought to hold the power (Mana) of previous owners and aid the person who wears it.
