They are both carved from the same piece of Pounamu until the two Hei Matau /hooks break apart and become two pendants.

Each Hei Matau/hook is 55mm in length and 44mm at its widest.

The Pounamu for these Hei Matau was collected from the Marsden Valley in the Paroa Area, just outside of Greymouth, on the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand.

They have an extremely strong, waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time. They are  extremely strong and are made to be worn all the time - even in the water.  The cords are adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.

Pendant  Meaning:  These are two pendants that when together form a double Spiral Koru.  This can represent two peoples lives coming together in love, friendship and harmony.

When apart each person wears the Hei Matau/hook.  Which gives them strength and determination.  It brings peace, prosperity and good health.  It also provides the wearer with a safe journey through life - both a safe physical journey especially over water and also helping the wearer through any hardships and tough times they may face.
