The Breastplate is a symbol of strength and offers protection to the wearer.
This Breastplate is 70mm wide and 40mm high. It can be worn either way for two different looks as the colour in the pounamu is different on both sides.
This Breastplate is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Marsden Valley in the Paroa Area just outside of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island. It is the 'Marsden Flower Jade' and is called this because of the unique golden colours in the stone found (the flower) found in the Marsden Valley.
The Breastplate has an adjustable, waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time - even in any water. It is a hand platted, round, 4-plait cord. The cord is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.
