The pounamu on this bracelet is 20mm in length, 17mm wide. It is carved with a set of double Koru coming together. The bracelet cord is 235mm in length but comes with instructions to be adjusted to fit any size of wrist smaller than this. However when adjusted it can not be made larger again.
The bracelet can be easily taken on and off by putting the small pounamu toggle through the loop in the cord. Although, the bracelet has been made so that it can be worn ALL the time and does not need to be taken off at all - even when you go in any kind of water.
The light green cord is extremely strong as it is four strands of 1.4mm thick cord that have been hand platted into a special, round, 4-plait cord.
Meaning of Carving on the Pounamu: The pounamu has two Koru carved into it. Each Koru can represent an individual or an individual and their family - this shows the peoples lives coming together in love, friendship and harmony.
Otherwise each Koru could represent an individual, the Whanau/family, an important event, place, time, achievement or accomplishment in the recipients life. Or a new beginning as these are the meanings that the Koru can symbolise.
