The Porohita is 44mm in diameter and approx. 8mm thick. Both sides of the Porohita are shaped/scalloped so that it is comforting to rub while it is worn.
The Porohita is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Marsden Valley in the Paroa area just outside of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island. It is the 'Marsden Flower Jade' and is called this due to the unique golden colouring in the pounamu.
The Porohita has an extremely strong, waxed nylon cord so the pendant can be worn ALL the time - even in any kind of water. It is a special, hand platted, round, 4-plait cord. The cord is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.
The Porohita / disc represents the circle of life which has no beginning or end. In life the opportunities are endless so with this pendant you can achieve whatever you want to in life.
