The pendant is 35mm in diameter.
This Yin Yang is carved from pounamu we have collected from the Rimu Area just South of Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island.
The pendant has an extremely strong, waxed nylon cord so it can be worn ALL the time - even in any kind of water. It is extremely strong. The cord is adjustable by pinching the special knots between your thumb and finger and pulling.
Yin and Yang is a concept of dualism, describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity and absorption … Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity and penetration.
